First Climate Continues Partnership with Zurich City Triathlon

First Climate will once again serve as a co-sponsor and climate action partner of the Zurich City Triathlon (ZC3) in 2025. On June 29, the city of Zurich will be transformed into a vibrant racecourse for over 5,000 triathletes from Switzerland and around the globe. Known for its unique atmosphere and scenic setting along Lake Zurich, the ZC3 has continued to grow in both participant and spectator numbers since its debut in 2022. As in previous years, First Climate will support the event by calculating related greenhouse gas emissions and promoting its climate-focused initiatives.

Was sind Scope 1,2,3 Emissionen?

At ZC3, participants can choose between a Sprint or Olympic distance, competing in the classic triathlon disciplines of swimming, cycling, and running. A highlight of the event is the corporate triathlon, where employees can compete solo or within teams. Once again, members of the First Climate team will be among the athletes rising to the challenge.

Sustainability at the heart of ZC3

Corporate responsibility, also in terms of sustainability, is a core value for the ZC3 organizers. From its inception, the triathlon has focused on hosting a climate-conscious and resource-efficient event. To minimize its carbon footprint, the ZC3 partners with local suppliers to reduce transport distances, produces finisher shirts only on a pre-order basis, and forgoes on-site car parking in favor of encouraging public transportation.

As the official climate action partner for the 2025 event, First Climate will once again calculate the carbon footprint related to participant and attendee travel. Athletes will also have the opportunity to track their personal travel emissions via a mobile app. Based on this data, First Climate will enable the ZC3 to make a meaningful contribution to climate action by supporting a verified international climate project.

Visit First Climate on race day – and support climate action!

The First Climate team won’t just be competing; they’ll also be on site with an information booth at the event village on the picturesque Landiwiese. Visitors can stop by to get assistance with tracking their travel emissions and learn more about how to contribute to climate change mitigation efforts. Planning to take part in this year’s ZC3 and want to make a difference for the planet? We look forward to welcoming you at our booth on June 28 and 29!
