The 17th German Sustainability Award to be presented on November 28 / First Climate is the event’s partner
Pioneering companies that are leading the way on sustainability play an important role in the transition to a more sustainable future and set an important example for others. This year, as part of German Sustainability Day on November 28-29, the German Sustainability Award (in German: Deutsche Nachhaltigkeitspreis, or DNP for short) will honor outstanding environmental and social initiatives. The event in Düsseldorf is expected to welcome around 3,000 participants. As service partner, First Climate supports the event in various ways, including with the calculation of the event’s carbon footprint.
Each year, this two-day congress brings together representatives committed to driving sustainable transformation from diverse industries. Around 150 speakers from business, politics, research, and civil society share their insights through keynotes, panel discussions, and interviews. In the evening award ceremonies, leaders from 100 sectors are recognized across various categories for their ambitious and impactful contributions to a sustainable future. This year’s focus areas include climate, resources, nature, supply chains, and society. The German Sustainability Awards are decided by a distinguished jury of 224 experts.
First Climate calculating the event’s carbon footprint
As in previous years, First Climate supports sustainable event practices at the 2024 German Sustainability Award (DNP) by calculating the event’s carbon footprint. The First Climate team will also be at the awards with a stand in the foyer of the MARITIM Hotel in Düsseldorf. There, attendees and suppliers can contribute to the accuracy of the event’s carbon footprint calculation by logging their travel emissions with a link to the app or on-site at the stand.
The event organizers are also committed to sustainability, ensuring that the planning, competitions, and award ceremonies are conducted with sustainable event production in mind. Find out more about the DNP’s specific sustainability and climate initiatives here:
