Online seminar by CDP and First Climate on 25th November 2021
When it comes to corporate carbon management strategies, supply chains are increasingly coming into focus. In a joint online seminar on 25th November, CDP and First Climate will explain how companies can tackle emissions within their supply chain and will shed light on the crucial role that renewable energy plays in the process.
We are currently witnessing a shift in the global energy procurement landscape. Green energy has proven to be an increasingly attractive and effective means of implementing corporate decarbonization measures in recent years due to falling prices. Renewables hold an enormous emission reduction potential, especially when it comes to a company’s supply chain. This is because Scope 3 emissions, i.e. emissions from a company’s upstream and downstream value chain, are up to eleven times higher than Scope 1 and 2 emissions combined. But how can companies unlock this potential?
On 25th November, CDP and First Climate will deal with this topic in their virtual seminar “Towards a greener supply chain: renewable energy as a component of climate action.” During the event, First Climate experts Alina Juncker, Vincent Erasmy and Steven Krawietz will highlight the steps companies should consider on their path to decarbonization. They will also present case studies and best practice examples from the automotive industry. The First Climate team will be joined by Nicholas Fedson, Senior Analyst - Renewable Energy at CDP, who will introduce participants to the RE100 initiative and CDP’s supply chain program.
