Promotion to the Board as Chief Operating Officer
Mike Hatert will join the executive board of First Climate Markets AG on 1 April 2022. In his new position, the energy expert and former Head of Renewables at First Climate, will be responsible for the company's operational business in the future. On the board, Mike Hatert joins Olaf Bachert, Chairman of the Executive Board, as COO.
“Mike has many years of experience in the renewable energy and CO2 management sectors. He is extremely familiar with these topics, and from his previous positions, he fully understands the customer’s perspective as well. Through his responsible duties here, he has made significant contributions to the further development of First Climate's range of solutions and services in recent years. Mike clearly brings the best qualifications for successfully shaping First Climate's business activities and supporting our clients even better with their climate protection targets today and in the future,” explains Jochen Knoesel, Chairman of the Supervisory Board. The board unanimously voted to approve the appointment at its most recent meeting.
Mike Hatert joined First Climate in 2018 - initially as Head of Renewables. Since last year, he has also been responsible for the entire customer relations of First Climate Markets AG. These responsibilities entail, among other things, the further development of the company's management of global sales activities. As an educated engineer, Mike has more than 15 years of professional experience in the energy industry as well as in the voluntary carbon market. Prior to joining First Climate, he held managerial and executive positions at Deutsche Bahn and the energy utility ENTEGA, to name a few.
In his role on the board, Mike's goal is to further develop and boost First Climate's position as a leading provider of voluntary climate protection services and solutions in the corporate sector. “I feel it is a privilege, and gives me an even deeper motivation, to be able to support companies in their commitment to climate protection through my professional activities. It is rewarding to help find solutions to the climate crisis in partnership with the outstanding First Climate team and in cooperation with our customers worldwide,” says the newly named COO. “I will continue to devote all my energy to these goals in my new position. Through our undertakings, we want to continue to develop the best solutions for effective carbon management and enable the corporate community to formulate and achieve ambitious climate protection goals.”
