Carbono Vivo

A Carbon Removals and Biodiversity Project in Colombia

Proyecto CarbonoVivo Logo

Cultivating the Future on Colombian Soil

For centuries, farmers and ranchers in Colombia have worked and lived on rich and fertile land. But industrial-style livestock and land management are exacerbating climate change. Soil quality and ecosystems are suffering. The once-fertile paddocks and fields have lost nutrients, lush forages, and their ability to function as natural carbon sinks.

The CarbonoVivo Project is reversing these harmful practices. By moving towards regeneration and empowering farmers to make a difference through sustainable land management, the project transforms the way they care for their land, their animals, their communities, and our planet.

Healthy Soil,
Thriving Livestock,
More Biodiversity,
and Climate Impact.

A central element of CarbonoVivo is adaptive multi-paddock grazing: livestock feeds on one plot of land before rotating to another grazing area. The previous paddock is left undisturbed for around 40-90 days depending on the time of the year.

This allows the roots of the grass to survive, regenerate, and push deeper into the soil. The results are astonishing: Healthier soil, stronger roots, and a balanced microbiome.

Improved soil means greener pastures and nutritious, appetizing feed for cattle. And as the humus builds up, the soil holds more carbon, storing it safely away for generations to come.

Help Us Make an Impact

Climate Protection Needs New Solutions

Our farmers are committed to making a difference on their land. But they cannot do it without your support! Your company can help make an impact by purchasing certified carbon credits from CarbonoVivo. It’s a perfect way to demonstrate your commitment to climate action.

Acknowledging the outstanding integrity of our approach, CarbonoVivo will be among the very first projects of its kind globally to receive verification from the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS). CarbonoVivo offers an exciting opportunity for companies to invest in an innovative approach to climate action based on soil carbon methods, biodiversity protection, and community engagement.

Let's talk about exclusive carbon credits.

Making an Impact in Colombia

CarbonoVivo is more than a revolutionary carbon project — it’s a farming-forward movement toward climate resilience, economic empowerment, and biodiversity restoration. Currently, over 50 farms are involved, with 100 more awaiting a chance to join.

  • Healthier soils lead to increased yields and reduced fertilizer dependence.

  • Biodiversity restoration enhances ecosystem services, including natural pest control.

  • Higher farm profitability through carbon credits and sustainable product premiums.

  • Local community benefits through job creation and farmer training programs to incorporate sustainable practices.

It’s a win-win for farmers, livestock, and the climate.

Let's talk about carbon removal credits

"Our initiative empowers farmers with the knowledge they need to restore their land with sustainable land management. CarbonoVivo means "living carbon" in spanish and we named our project this because adaptive multi-paddock grazing brings life back into pastures by improving soil health and enhancing biodiversity.

Help us make a difference for farmers, their livestock, their business, and above all our climate by supporting the CarbonoVivo project. "

Let's dig into it.

Our Farmers Say

Javiera Lastra, CarbonoVivo Rancher

"Implementing practices such as pasture rotation and natural regeneration of the guásimos trees has strengthened our resilience to climate change. In addition, venturing into carbon credit certification has generated comprehensive economic and environmental benefits for us."

Local Action, Global Impact.
And your company can be a part of it.

By adopting sustainable grazing techniques, this project avoids emissions while also increasing carbon storage in healthier soils—another step forward in global climate action.

Secure high-quality carbon credits today and support a solution that benefits both the planet and local communities.
